Best yarn to use for baby hats?

Hi,

 

I was thinking cotton yarn would be best to make baby/toddler hats. The only kind of cotton yarn I can find is peaches and cream at Walmart/ Michaels. Is there a brand or different type of yarn anyone could recommend? I wanted something all natural so that's why I thought of cotton.

I have a book that is mostly baby hats, and almost all the patterns call for cotton yarn. They suggested Lily's Sugar and Cream yarn. I've also used Lion Brand Cotton. Both are pretty much the same as Sugar and Cream, usually just in different colors.

 

Only a couple of the patterns called for anything different. Just a few used acrylic stuff like Red Heart, chenille, or some kind of novelty yarn as an accent.

Cotton tots would be nice, or maybe Aunt Lydia's denim cotton if you can find it, it has just a little acrylic in it and is really nice.

 

If you want to go upscale... I'd do them in Blue Sky Alpacas or Pakucho organic cottons - so so soft.
