5/30/12: Changes to Terms of Use (Social Sharing)

Hi, Crochetville Members!

 

Whether you visit Crochetville every day or infrequently, we thank you for being a valued part of our community. We also want to let you know about some changes to our Terms of Use.

 

Social Media Sharing

 

Since Crochetville's beginning in 2004, there have been many changes to the use of social media on the internet. Blogs and websites have added social sharing buttons to their posts and pages, making it easier for site visitors to tweet, share, like, pin, etc. Site visitors frequently share content without checking a site's sharing policies.

 

Because of these widespread changes in internet user expectations and behavior, we must make some changes to our Terms of Use. Similar changes have been made by other crafting community sites, such as craftster.org, crochetme.com, and other sites managed by Interweave Press. Our new policy is:

 

To reach crocheters beyond the Crochetville community, Crochetville staff, users, and site visitors may now share some of the contributions you've made to the community on social media sites. By posting content (including but not limited to images) on Crochetville, you agree that Crochetville and our site members and visitors may share it on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and/or any other social media outlets that may come into existence. EXCEPTION: Complete patterns can not be shared outside of Crochetville, although a link to the pattern and pattern photos may be shared.

 

This policy applies to all content posted on June 1, 2012, and afterward. If you have uploaded images or other content in the past and wish to remove this content as a result of the policy change, please do this before August 1. After August 1, 2012, all content posted on Crochetville may be shared on any social media site.

 

Please pin, like, or tweet your favorite Crochetville posts. (Don't forget to link back to the post on Crochetville.) We love seeing your favorites and sharing your amazing work with others.

Crochetville staff and members may post links to other web pages. Because Crochetville has no control of such web pages, you acknowledge and agree that Crochetville is not responsible for the availability of such external web pages and does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products or other materials on or available from such web pages. You are responsible for the links you post. You should not post links to sites you believe are infringing upon the copyright or trademark of another party.
