Knitting Machine Yarn For Crochet?

Hey, all ! Hope everyone's having a good evening!!! Was wondering... can you use knitting machine yarn, the stuff that comes on those cardboard rolls, for plain and simple crochet? Sure would like to know...

i think you can use any yarn you want for crochet.. even stuff that isnt "yarn" I am all for creative uses.. who says it all has to be used for knit?

I use it all the time because I can get it so cheap on Ebay. Most is acrylic and it is quite thin. I double or triple it up. I use a yarn winder which is really useful when buying yarn on the cone because you can make "cakes" of yarn that are much more managable. I combine different colours for different effects too. You can also combine different fibre types such as one strand of metallic with a plain strand of yarn.
