Teaching children to crochet

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am a primary teacher and I am keen to get the children at school involved in the things that I make for charity. I crochet, but can not really read patterns, I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas of really simple things that I could crochet with children for charity. Any charity would be fine, but I think something quick, small and simple would be best to get us started. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I teach children aged 3-11 so anything suitable for any age under 11 would be fab!

Thanks,

Elli

Plain and simple Granny Squares would be perfect I reckon. Mainly done with counting in 3's. Can use all the colours under the rainbow. Could make small ones as coasters? or dishclothes even maybe. Or each class could make their own blanket using the squares... and you can stitch them together. :D
