Need help on Carousel Square

I'm working on this square, and I'm stuck on row 7.

I'm just a bit confused about working in the back of row 4 and how I just ONE stitch coming up from the back?? Unless I'm just not reading this right?

 

I'm trying to get one square done everyday at lunch and this one hung me up yesterday!! Could you please help me?

From what I understand, you have to go down into Row 4 using only 1 st, I know, even I find it funny whenever a pattern calls for it, and work that row into the sts in Row 4, so you get a 3D effect.

I actually worked on it at a couple red lights this morning and seemed to get it going again.

Maybe I was just a little too brain dead yesterday for it to make sense.
