Handles for felted bag?

Just wanted some input from those of you who have made felted bags. How have you made your handles, and how are they holding up? I would prefer to crochet them since my knitting skills are almost non existant!

I only have one felted bag with handles, and so far they have held up very well. What I did was... when I got to where I wanted handles, I chained across however many chains (equal to about a third of the width of the bag I guess?) then rejoined and continued around, did the same on the other side, then just crocheted around and around (going into the chain the first round of course) till I had the size I wanted. Here's a pic :

 

 

Another option, if you want rounded type handles like you'd get from knitting.... chain as long as you want, sc up one side and down the other, then join the two sides together with a slip stitch all the way down. Felt, then attach.

I have used 3 rows of single crochet and then slip stitched them together and they seem to work well. When the handles felt the tighen alot and make a nice sturdy handle.

I made some beaded handles for a small felted bag. I used eyelets to attach the handles to the bag.
