Treble Puff Heart Square

Materials:

Worsted Weight yarn
Size H hook (5.00mm)
Yarn needle (to weave in ends)

Finish Size 6"h x 6"w inches

Different Stitches:

Double treble (DT)- Yarn over 3 times, insert hook in specified st, yarn over, pull up a loop, [yarn over, pull thru 2 loops] Do this 4 times.

Directions:

Row 1: Ch18 somewhat loosely, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 sc in each of the next 16 chains, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 2: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 3: 1 sc in each of the next 8 sts, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 8 sts, ch1 and turn.
(16sc, 1 DT)

Row 4: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1, and turn.
(17sc)

Row 5: 1 sc in each of the next 6 sts, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in next st, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in next st, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 6 sts, ch1 and turn.
(14sc, 3 DT)

Row 6: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 7: 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, 1 DT in next st, [1 sc in next st, 1 DT in next st] Do this 4 times, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, ch1 and turn.
(12sc, 5 DT)

Row 8: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 9: 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 DT in next st, [1 sc in next st, 1 DT in next st] Do this 6 times, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, ch1 and turn.
(10sc, 7 DT)

Row 10: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 11: 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 DT in next st, [1 sc in next st, 1 DT in next st] Do this 6 times, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, ch1 and turn.
(10sc, 7 DT)

Row 12: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 13: 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in next st, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in next st, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in next st, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in next st, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, ch1 and turn.
(11sc, 6 DT)

Row 14: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.

Row 15: 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 7 sts, 1 DT in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, ch1 and turn.
(15sc, 2 DT)

Row 16: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 17: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.

Border:

Rnd 1: work 72 sc evenly around square, working into stitches; row ends and free loops (from starting chain). You should have 15 sc on each side with 3 sc in each of the corner of the square. Join Rnd with sl st, ch1 and turn.

Rnd 2: Work sc evenly around square, working (1 sc, ch2, 1 sc) in middle sc of each corner, join with sl st.
(76sc, 4-ch2 spaces)

Finish off and weave in ends.
