Harmony blanket help!

loverofyarn

Question

Hi I am doing the blanket from bernat that is for breast cancer awareness, and I am having some major problems. Hope someone can help me out. I have no problem with any of it until I get to row 2. Can someone just clear this up for me and explain how to do it. thanks...

Ch 112.

1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Ch 2. Miss next ch. 1 sc in next ch. *Miss next 3 ch. (3 dc. Ch 3. 1 sc) in next ch. Ch 2. Miss next ch. (1 sc. Ch 3. 3 dc) in next ch. Miss next 3 ch. 1 sc in next ch. Ch 2. Miss next ch. 1 sc in next ch. Rep from * to end of ch. Turn.

2nd row: Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc. Ch 1). 1 dc in next ch-2 sp. Ch 1. *Miss next sc and 3 dc. 1 sc in next ch-3 sp. Ch 2. (Yoh and draw up a loop. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice in next ch-2 sp. Yoh and draw through all 3 loops on hook - cluster made. Ch 2. 1 sc in next ch-3 sp. Ch 1. (1 dc. Ch 1) twice in next ch-2 sp. Rep from * across, ending with (1 dc. Ch 1) in last ch-2 sp. 1 dc in last sc. Turn.

what is it about Row 2 that is confusing you?

Bernat patterns are now edited in Canada, so some terms are a bit different, Miss means skip; yoh is yarn over hook, or just plain YO.

The cluster is worked as follows: YO, insert hook in ch-2 sp and draw up a lp; YO and draw through first 2 lps on hook; YO, insert hook in same ch-2 sp and draw up a lp, YO and draw through first 2 lps on hook; YO and draw through all 3 lps on hook: Cluster made.

So Row 2 after the * would be:

*skip next sc and skip next 3 dc, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 2; work Cluster in next ch-2 sp; ch 2, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1; in next ch-2 sp work (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1); rep from *

across to last ch-2 sp; in last ch-2 sp work (dc, ch 1), dc in last sc; turn.

I hope this does not confuse you more!

I know this thread is old, but I am currently making this blanket and can't find any information on it elsewhere. I just wantto ask loverofyarn, ifyou can remember, when you started making this blanket did it lay flat? I am about 8 rows in and mine is all twisty and wavy and not flat or straight at all. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if maybe it flattens out later after the edging is done. Anything you can recall would be appreciated!
