The following pattern is my original design.

Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.

MATERIALS:

 

Steel Hook Size 1

#10 Bedspread Weight Cotton

24 inches of 1/8" Ribbon

 

Stitches Used: ch, sl st, sc, dc, v-st, shell.

V-st = (dc, ch 1, dc) in same st.

Shell = 5 dc in same st.

 

Difficulty: EASY/MEDIUM

Row 1: Ch 15, v-st in 5th ch from hook. * Sk next ch, dc in next ch, sk next ch, v-st in next ch. Rep from * once. Sk next ch, dc in last ch, ch 3, turn.

Row 2: V-st in ch-1 sp of each v-st; dc in each dc. Ch 3, turn.

Rows 3-17: Rep Row 2.

Row 18: Rep Row 2 except only ch 1 and the end and Do Not Turn.

EDGING/BORDER

Rnd 1. Sc around post of last dc made on Row 18.

SIDE: * Ch 3, sc around dc in end of next row. Rep from * to corner.

CORNER: (sc, ch 3, sc) around post of dc in the corner.

END: * Ch 3, sk next v-st, sc in next dc. Rep from * once. Ch 3, sk next v-st, sc in next dc, ch 3.

Work Corner.

Repeat Side.

Repeat Corner

End #2: * Ch 3, sk next v-st, sc in next dc. Rep from * once. Ch 3, sk next v-st.

FINISH CORNER: Sc in corner, ch 3, join with sl st in 1st sc made.

RND 2: * Sc in next ch-3 sp, shell in next ch-3 sp. Rep from * around entire bookmark.

Join with a sl st in the 1st sc made.

FASTEN OFF

FINISHING: Weave ribbon into Rnd 1 and tie in a bow on one end.
