First Thread Project

I've never crocheted with thread, but I'd like to try something. A long time ago I caught a clearance sale at the post exchange where my husband was stationed at the time and got 8 skeins burgundy crochet thread for .50 each! I've had it for a couple years and never been brave enough to try anything with it. It's a size 10. Any ideas on where to look for simple patterns or what I might could do with all of it would be appreciated!

If you want to make a doiley crochet pattern central has a TON of them on their site, also , freepatterns.com has some stuff in their home decor section that is really pretty.

one of my first projects was a "scarf" bookmark. It helped me get used the the tension of the thread and making such small stitches. If I remember correctly, CPC has lots of bookmark patterns, too.
