Yarn color coordination

LadyNole08

Question

I need some opinions on yarn color coordination.

I'm doing a Burberry inspired afghan blanket and instead of using the very traditional Burberry colors, I want to do black, gold, ivory (or cream) and the fourth color I'm not sure about. Maybe tan? What I am uncertain about is where red is on the purse, I maybe want to replace it. Using these colors, what do you all think? Any other color suggestions are good too.

Forest green or navy blue would offer a contrast without being too eye-catching. Why don't you want the red? :think I'm a color junkie, so I'm curious. peace, meg

It's for my boyfriend who is in a fraternity and black and gold are the org's colors. So I don't know how he would feel with red being in the afghan but he isn't a picky guy. I am, though and I want it to be just right for him. :) I was thinking about one of his jackets he wore that was tan and had his letters on it.

@fritzerbear - That sounds like a great color to use for the main color.
