Piecing Items to Felt

I am still working on the felted hook case by PJ. It is made in pieces and requires sewing, do I use thread or yarn? If I use yarn and a big needle will it hold? Any tips?

Use the same yarn you're using for the item. That way it'll also felt with the item and make it stronger.
