What's a good size for a baby bunting?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone:

This pattern is gorgeous :manyheart but I'd like to use a different stitch for the centre part of the bunting and, perhaps, a thicker yarn.

It looks like this is a square crochet baby blanket that's folded in half and "laced up" using ribbon. Very ingenious and it looks so pretty.

If anyone has made this before, what size did it turn out to be?

Also, do people find buntings useful? It's pretty to look at but is it practical.

Thanks.

Cheryl.

I haven't used one since I don't have kids, but I would think that it would serve the same purpose as a blanket, but since babies don't have control of their arms and legs, you wouldn't have to worry about the blanket from coming untucked. At the same time, they could probably more easily overheat if it is too warm out. They were used for so long historically, they have to have some advantage over just blankets.
