Another method of doing a rug and a cute belt

Recommended Posts

I was perusing the antique library at www.antiquepatterns and opened a book that two things that caught my attention.

The first was a way of doing rugs using ordinary yarn and clothes line.

See page 57:

Then my brain began wondering why this seemed familiar. Long time ago I had bookmarked Clothesline Crochet! Priscilla Hewitt had an online tutorial that I had marked for a future project. She really improved on the technique in the Klickmann book, removing the need to sew the coils together, instead crocheting them as you go.

The last page has a really functional way to make a belt that doesn't stretch. I'm sure I've seen similar, but not with a buckle.
