Ruffled Candle Ornament

For all of you who loved my littest ever snowman, you'll probably like this too! I love making little things. There is no picture because I am blind, but feel free to post one if soemone makes this candle. Feel free to share this pattern with others, just don't claim it as your own! Brenda

 

RUFFLED CANDLE ORNAMENT

 

Size: About 2-1/2 inches tall.

 

Materials: Worsted weight yarn, white, red, green & yellow; G

crochet hook; yarn needle.

 

With white, ch2.

 

Rnd 1: 6 Sc in 2nd ch from hook.

 

Rnd 2: 2 Sc in each sc around: 12.

 

Rnd 3: (start ruffle) Working in fronext lps only, (sc, ch2) in

each sc around: 12 sc, 12 ch2 sps.

 

Rnd 4: Working in back lps of Rnd 2, (sc, ch1, hdc) in first lp,

hdc in each lp around, join with sl st in first hdc (not sc or

ch1): 12.

 

Rnds 5-11: Rep Rnds 3 and 4, ending with Rnd 3: 5 ruffle rnds.

 

Rnd 12: Working in rem back lps of Rnd 10, (Sc in next lp, 2 sc in

next lp) around, join with sl st in first sc: 18. Fasten off and

weave in ends.

 

Skirt:

 

Rnd 1: Join red with sl st in fronext lp of first sc; ch2 (does not

counext as hdc), hdc in joining and in next lp, 2 hdc in next lp,

(hdc in next 2 lps, 2 hdc in next lp) around, join with sl st in

first hdc: 24.

 

Rnd 2: Ch2, hdc in joining and in next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, (hdc

in next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc) around, join: 32. Fasten off and

weave in ends.

 

Rnd 3: (outer ruffle) Join green in back lp of last rnd; (sc, ch2,

hdc) in same lp as joining, * sk next st, (sc, ch2, hdc) in next

lp) around, sk last lp, join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off and

weave in ends.

 

Flame: With yellow, ch4, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch,

hdc in last ch; ch1, working on opposite side of starting ch, sc in

next ch, sl st in last ch, ch1, sl st in first sl st. Fasten off

and weave in ends. Sew to top of candle. Place on limb of tree or attach hanter to top of flame.
