Lacy Wave Stitch

Question

Please help me! I am currently on square #49 in LA’s 63 Easy To Crochet Pattern Stitches. I can complete rows 1 and 2 of this square with no problem. However, when it comes to row 3, I do not know where the last five stitches go.

I am to make 5 dc’s in the last “space.” But I’m not sure if I’m supposed to put these in the last ch-1 sp or in the 5 chain that began the previous row. If I put it in the ch-1 space, it makes the ch-5 stick out. If I stick it in the ch-5, it messes up the next row.

Has anyone out there stitched the Lacy Wave Stitch before? Can you help me?

Thanks everyone!

It may help if you look at the next row, try it the way you think it goes & if it is wrong the next row will be too. I take it to mean the last stitch in the current row, one that you created in the last row. I don't have the book, otherwise I could give a better answer! Hope that helps though.
