Question

I have just finished the amigurumi inchworm (http://www.crochetme.com/amigurumi-inchworm) from the Crochet Me website, and ran across a Front Post Single Crochet stitch.

 

I'm a little confused as to where it is my hook actually goes. I used a regular SC and it turned out fine, but I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand in figuring this out (I couldn't tell from diagrams online and the work I was doing), and maybe tell me the differences the two stitches have?

 

Maybe I should just do a little swatch and practice?

From looking at the pattern (which is cute, BTW) it seems that the front post stitches are used to give a raised pattern around the head.

Have you ever worked a Front Post Double? I would say it's the same thing, except you put the hook in through the post of the single crochet below. Depending on the type of yarn you used, that could be easy or hard. ;)
