Woolfest in England's Lake District, JUne 2007

From June 25 to July 3, 2007, I will be leading a

Textile Travel group on a week-long fiber lovers' tour to Scotland and the Lake District of England. We will be visiting Glasgow for two days, with

social events such as aftenoon tea at the Willow Tea Rooms, a social evening with Scottish fiber lovers and a trunk show at K1 Yarn Shop with owner Katherine Walker.

 

Then we head to Cumbria, the Lake District, for the 2007 Woolfest show. It's a gathering of small farm owners who raise sheep, alpacas, angora goats and other fiber-rich animals, with exhibits by yarn suppliers, spinners and others.. We will tour the show, participate in a Knit-and Crochet-in with UK and European participants, and visit local farms. Many interesting workshops are also scheduled at the Woolfest.

 

Finally, we spend two days on Lake Windermere, walking the many trails through the hills and valleys around the lakes, visiting Beatrix Potter's home, and seeing the sights by boat and small railroad. See more about the trip here:
