I know back loop gives the ridge effect, also try the sc, ch1, sk1, then repeat this give it a slight knit look and a strechy effect. Did a scarf similar this year with the ridge and strechy effect, did a babay blankett too in that sc, ch1, sk1, repeat from sc worked great for me. Plus it had a knitted look. oh yeah when you finish the row please sc in the ch1 sp. always.
