Toddler poncho pattern w/ Light & Lofty...

I am looking to make a poncho for my 18 month old with Light & Lofty (I'm trying to use my stash!)
It doesn't need to be long or fancy. I've been wondering about just substituting out yarn, but I've never braved that.
Any pointers?
