Add the button before or after?

Hi,

 

I'm about to make my first attempt at felting. I made the Claudia Clutch from Lions brand using 100% wool. So it needs a button to close the clutch. Do I do this before or after felting?

My vote is for after. You may not know exactly where to put it before, with all the shrinking that will occur.

Definitely sew on the button after you felt your project. I use a tapestry needle and a piece of the same yarn I crocheted my project with to sew on buttons. Aloha!
