Entrelac Pattern Help

I am making a preemie blanket using this method can anyone tell me How to finish it in a way that fills in the space between the points on each end? If not what kind of border would you suggest? Any help would be appreciated.

You make half squares across the end. I don't have my book handy, but I believe to do that your first row will have the same number of stitches as the other squares. In the next row and rows after, you'd skip the spot where the first stitch would go, reducing the stitch count by one each row. The last row of the 1/2 square should have 1 stitch. I'm pretty sure that's right.
