Balls for Felting

Recommended Posts

Oh, the subject titles I thought of for this post;).

I saw these at Walgreen's today and was reading about how they soften clothes without the use of fabric softener. They are made for use in the dryer and the idea is that the little nubbies fluff the clothes and the rotation of the balls "lifts and separates" the laundry to make it softer. So I thought :idea maybe they'd work in the washer to help provide felting friction. They seem a little light, so I hope they don't float in the water. None of my WIPs are ready for the washer yet, but when I try them out, I'll let you know how they worked.

Has anyone else tried these in the washer?

I too saw those in my local Walgreens. I considered them for my regular loads of clothes, but thought they'd be rather rough on the clothes. For fulling/felting, I'd think they'd work well. Me, I just use an old pair of tennies and jeans.
