Help with dolls...cleaning and repair?

I nice lady generously donated 9 of her 285 Cabbage Patch Dolls. They need a little cleaning and some minor repair. I will make outfits for them and donate them. My question is...3 of them have that "corn silky" type hair. The others I have been able to run through the washer and then hang to dry. I'm a little leary about these 3, though. I figure kids are going to get them dirty and the easier to clean...the better. How should I clean these particular 3 dolls? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have crochet patterns for their clothes.

you might spot clean them, the cornsilk hair washes pretty good with shampoo...if my barbie memories serve well.....just be VERY gentle or it'll matt up

You could also wash with a gentle laundry soap such as Woolite and use fabric softener as "conditioner."
