How can I crochet these arms and legs?

It's a bit hard to see, but it looks like they're just crocheted in a spiral. For example, ch 4, join. ch1, 8 sc in circle, do not join. row 2: inc ea sc around. (16 sc) row 3: inc every second sc around (24 sc) row 4: inc every third sc around (32 sc)...you see where this is going. You can start with any number of sc to start--you'll start with fewer sc for the arms than the legs. It's easiest if it's an even number. Once the limb is wide enough, just work even until it's as long as you want.

 

Mark the first sc on each round or you'll get hopelessly lost. (Paperclips work great. I use a red one every 5th row to help with counting) It looks like they made the limb, stuffed it a bit, then flattened the end to sew it on.
