Question
Magickimbo
Hi everyone,
I crocheted a chevron afghan for a friend. When I washed it, the red bled onto the white really badly. It’s red, white and grey, and there’s a band of white at the top and bottom of each band of red. I haven’t dried it yet. I only just learned about soaking items in diluted vinegar to set the dye prior to washing, so obviously I didn’t do it with this project. Is there anyone who knows what I can do to salvage my afghan? If not, I’m going to have to remake it. I’ve read the other posts on this topic, here on this forum, but need an answer. Caron Simply Soft is the yarn I used, so unfortunately the belief that acrylic doesn’t bleed is false. I have the proof of that. Thanks in advance for any advice.
