Stitch identification.

My grandmother recently passed. She was 95. She made countless afghans for family and church members. My wife was asked to finish one she was working on but we cannot figure out the stitch she was using. Any leads or help is appreciated. Thanks

Shell is two dc, chain one , two dc, all in the same space. V is dc, chain one, dc, all in same space. Next row do v in the space of shell, shell in the space of v.
