Please help identify this stitch

Just making sure what stitch this is and perhaps what yarn if anyone would know.

I can't tell much from that photo. Based on what I can see, I am not sure it is crocheted.  And it looks like it is upside down to the way it was worked.  

 

Is it a photo you took of an item you own?  Or a photo you found online?

I can't seem to find the original site I found this on....this was a hat so it probably is upside down based the way it was worked.

I know it's crocheted and I was thinking it was a DC.

I'll try and look again to see if I can find the original picture over the weekend.

Looks like V-stitch to me, probably with one ch between the dcs, with each row worked between the stitches in the previous row rather than over the chain. V-stitch makes a nice, quick hat that isn't too heavy.
