Help with pattern

Beckypatt

Question

I am working on the sweater pattern below and do not understand the join for body, can someone help?

Lion Brand® Nature's Choice Organic® Cotton

GAUGE:

11 hdc + 8 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Becky, we are really not supposed to post big chunks of a pattern according to the site guidelines, as it violates the pattern copyright.  It's be better to link to the pattern on the Lion site and only post the specific few sentnces you need help with.

OK, so you have made the back and the left front.  You've just completed the section for right front but you don't fasten off, it says.  Now, still using the working yarn that you have on the right front, you continue in the "join for body" section.  it says "Row 15 (RS): Ch 2, turn, working across Right Front,"  so you are still working on the right front now. "sk first hdc, *hdc in next 4 hdc, hdc in next ch-1 sp, (ch 1, sk 1 hdc, hdc in next ch-1 sp) across to last 5 hdc of piece, ch 1, sk 1 hdc, hdc in last 4 hdc, hdc in top of turning ch*;" all of that is done as row 15 on the right front.

Next you pick up the back piece and start working across it; this will join the front to the back: "working over Back, hdc in first hdc, rep between * and *;" so after dooing that, you've gone across the whole back piece.

Next pick up the left front piece and start working on it " working across Left Front, hdc in first hdc, rep between * and * "

Then of course this last part is just the stitch count  "40 (48, 55) ch-1 sp, 11 sts each side, turning ch and 5 hdc at beg, 5 hdc at end."

Hope that makes sense!
