I am stuck on row 7 for size 28 (32, 36) on pg 3 (numbered 57).

I am just completely lost as to how to get the 36 v-st needed. There are special stitches on first page that you must reference. I managed to get to row 7 and I am just so lost.  Please help!

how many stitches do you have at the end of row five?

Sorry I forgot that information!

 

At the end of row 5 I correctly have 34 shells. I am attempting to make size medium so I need to get 44 v-st or shells by the end of row 7. From what I understand of the directions, I would get 42 and I just don't understand how you get different numbers. Are you suppose to guess where to add or take away?

It says to do the front inc, so that adds two v sts. Then the inc v st row adds eight. So you should be adding ten total.

I was getting confused as to how it was worded, but I finally overcame that and I get it now. Thanks for your help!

 

In case anyone else comes across this the first shell gets 2 v-st in the first two spots, then each shell after gets one v-st in 2nd spot, except for corners which get one v-st in each spot, and then end with last shell with one v-st in 2nd and 3rd spots.
