I need help on a stupid granny square from the book "the granny square book" by Margaret Hubert

I think there may be a typo in the pattern for "Lilyan's Lace" square number 9 on page 39. Does anyone have this book too and can we talk about rnd 3? It is an easy pattern but I can't seem to get it right.

which part are you stuck on?  You can't post the whole pattern but you can post a bit of it.

it does look like there is a double asterisk missing, but on the last side you just do the same as the second and third sides until you reach the corner.  I haven't made it but the diagram looks like it should work fine.

Thanks so much for the reply! I am in bed now so I can't post that part. I get confused once I get to the corner again. It doesn't make sense to me. I think it is a dc in 3rd ch of ch 3 or something. I can be sure when I look again tomorrow night

Oh by the way. No disrespect to Margaret Hubert lol when I say "stupid granny square" I am referring to my cluster of yarn that is supposed to be turning into a granny square haha

yes, when you get to the last corner you do a hdc into the top of the chain3 that you started the round with.  remember you ended round 2 with a sc into the top of the chain that started that round, this on round 3 is the same idea.  the symbol diagram shows it clearly.  the reason for doing this is that it puts you in the right position to start the next round.
