Your Help Needed: Our Free Crochet Pattern Directory

Amy

Question

Does everyone know that Crochetville has our very own Free Crochet Pattern Directory?

We currently have nearly 3,000 patterns listed, but there are so many more that need to be added. Wouldn't it be great to have a link to every free pattern in our very own directory?

If every Crochetville forum member and Facebook fan submitted only 5-10 of their favorite pattern links, the directory would be complete in no time at all.

How You Can Help

1. Submit links to your favorite free patterns.

- Find your favorite free patterns online.

- Search our directory on some keywords from the title to make sure the link hasn't already been submitted.

- Follow the steps in our tutorial to add the link and pattern information.

- Reminder: Add a link directly to the pattern; not a link to the pattern's listing in another directory (such as Crochet Pattern Central).

2. Volunteer as a pattern editor to proofread listings, add thumbnail photos, and approve listings.

- We need people with very good proofreading skills (grammar and spelling) with an eye for detail.

- There's no specific time commitment involved, but it would be great if you could spend a few hours each week approving links (if people submit them that fast).

- If you want to volunteer as an editor, use the Contact Us form to let us know.

- We'll add people as editors slowly, depending on how fast new links start to be submitted.

3. Special features of our directory that make it quite different from Crochet Pattern Central:

• YOU can submit pattern listings
  • Advanced search filter: tool in left-hand sidebar
  • Thumbnail photo galleries
  • Organized categories for easy browsing
  • Create your own favorite pattern list
  • "Love This Pattern" feature

• New patterns this month: see which patterns were added each week over the past month
