I was watching stitchdiva's videos for this on You Tube. I want to make my husband a hat and I was wondering how does this affect your stitch counts? I'd like to use the honeycomb stitch but I'm not sure I can wrap my mind around that, at this point just keeping the simple-purl alternation going is a challenge for me.

Any tips and advice on using this technique would be greatly appreciated.
