So it would be done with a whip stitch? Sorry, just a beginner in this.

 

Yes, a whip stitch is good to use for joining. Once your bag is felted, you won't see the whip stitches or the seam lines at all.

 

I you want more definition of the seams, you can use two strands of wool and sc the seams together on the outside. This will make 'welts' along the seam lines and is nice detail. You can even do these in a contrasting color. If you sc the seams in a contrasting color, I would also sc around the straps, top of bag, etc., in the contrasting color too. Click on the pictures to get an idea of what I mean.
