In the Little girl dreams pattern, the abbreviation ww was used. What does this stand for?

I'd have to see the pattern to know for sure, but probably "worsted weight" yarn.

I just finished a pattern and instead of TC for treble crochet they had TR. It was a tad confusing I must say.

Oh good to know! If someone asked me what the abbrev for treble crochet was I'd say TR because that's what I've seen. Maybe it's just the patterns I've used, ha. Thanks!

I have always seen and used tr for treble crochet. I would be confused if I saw tc.

dtr = double treble

trtr = triple treble

I always give a list of abbreviations with any and all of my patterns.

Some of the patterns from the 1800's used tc for treble crochet, there were htc and ltc also for half treble crochet and long treble crochet. If you check out the antique pattern library, they do have a pdf of a book that teaches crochet with the explanation of the stitches, and also some of the abbreviations used.

Awesome list, so many stitches included! I will be printing this out on a 4 x 6 photo sheet to keep with my other reference cards, just in case I ever need it! Thanks for sharing! ♥
