Some good clean fun?!

Recommended Posts

Morning, all!!

Stupid George made his appearance yesterday, so we are having a chillax' day at home. There is going to be an inflatable water slide at the Y today, so we will go to that, but that is it. I cleaned a bit this morning and probably should do a load or two of laundry.

Beth, the dogs are adjusting surprisingly well. We take them for walks about 4 times a day (which I secretly consider exercise for myself as well :lol) and they are fine. We have a sizable balcony and they like to go and sleep out there. Oh, and as for swimming- send him over! Isabella is quite good, Mia is just learning, and Eva just wants me to hold her in the water. I'm thinking of putting them in swim lessons at the Y, but they're fairly expensive and the classes are large (as far as swimming goes.) Sorry to hear you couldn't finish the blanket. How did the eye doctor go? Did you have to hold dh's hand, too? :D:wink My dh doesn't know his insurance info, either. :shrug Men.

Joanne, you are on a roll with the cleaning! WTG. I have bad news for you- my new favorite coffee is from the Coffee Bean. :yes I'm not a fan of their iced blended, but the dark chocolate latte is way better than the Bux. I feel like a traitor saying that, though! :lol How is your dd feeling these days?

Leeann and Marisa- love and hugs to you both!!

I just found a rash on Mia's back, so need to scoot! Be back later! :hug:hug:hug:hug

Hello friends!

Sorry I didn't make it on here last night, I was tuckered out! I slept and felt better but after our cleaning marathon this morning am feeling kinda tired again...nothing that a little yarn and hook won't fix.

The kiddos are home! :cheer:clap I missed them so much! We are all excited to be back together again. Tomorrow we are going swimming at an outdoor swimming pool, so excited as Splashland has been closed for a few years.

Joanne-hoping that you are relaxing and enjoying your Saturday.

Beth-WTG getting some housework in. It's the pits huh? Thank you for the hugs n squishes, I need them.

Stacy-oh so happy that you are enjoying the new appt and that the dogs are having a relaxing time at home.

Back to crafting, also made a huge batch up Lavender & Basil lotion bars. I ordered tins for them, they along with the soap will be added to my site this evening, I had an order for them too. And one for Ginger Fish-another new scent. Will post pics just as soon as I can.

hugs n squishes!

Hi all

Stacy- There is no Coffee Bean place here- I just did a location check!!! So, the Bux it is for me!!!! There is a Coffee Beanery- but I think that is different than the place you mentioned. Hope the rash is nothing!!!

LeeAnn- I'm enjoying my Saturday afternoon. Derek Jeter hit his 3000th hit which is huge and it was a Home Run!!! Really enjoying the game this afternoon!!

Beth- Did you finish the striped ghan?

Off to finish watching the game!

Hey ladies, just a quick stop. Made it last night and now have everything unpacked and the turtles are settled in.

Beth I can't wait for a do nothing weekend! My moms bray was last month, yesterday was their anniversary, but I wanted to come to bring the clothes I'm getting rid of and all the extra food in my place since my bro and his family are coming in next weekend for 3 weeks.

Hope everyone is well, but gotta run for now

Good morning. I haven't had any coffee yet, so this may not be very coherent.

Stacy, our favorite place for coffee is called "Java Junkies." They have a special blend of coffee which is really good. My kids went through the YMCA swim program many years ago. At that time, lessons were free for members -- what a deal with 3 kids who needed to learn!

Joanne, Thanks for the help with the colors. I have lots of Royal blue and red and white -- the local high school uses red and white for their colors. Thanks. My monitor doesn't show true colors, so it can be hard to judge what is what.

Marisa, I hope you have a great weekend. You'll get a break one of these days. Your mom likes to celebrate in the summer, doesn't she? LOL

LeeAnn, Hooray for getting live hugs and squishes from your own kids. Do they transition well from being away and coming home? Do they have a different set of rules to follow at the grandparents' house?

Well, I finished the blanket. I put it up, since I have so little room in my house. I'll get pictures eventually. I am working on the navy blue star. I think I'll start the black and yellow striped one next. I think I'll do diagnol stripes for that one, like the blanket I made my sister.

Today is dh's birthday. Strangely enough, it's his twin sister's birthday, too! We are going out to dinner together. We are never on time to celebrate -- this is very odd.

Top of the mornig to ya all!

How is everyone doing on this sunny Sunday? I hope fantastic!

Beth-Happy Happy Birthday to your dh! How fun! do you have more than two sets of twins in your family? We have about 4. My kiddos are doing better about leaving the attitudes at gramies. When they were little, it was a difficult transition for them. The in-laws spoil them and I mean spoil them and dote on their every need. However now that the kiddos are getting older, they have backed off a little. They took them to Pueblo shopping and of course to a few stores here in Alamosa, they always come home with new goodies. Dd came home with a new dress, a new game for her Nintendo Ds and a doll dress. Ds made out with 2 iTune gift cards and a pair of shorts.

Joanne-I bet you are up and :hook What project are you working on?

going to steal a few minutes of :hook myself, I had to remake the batch of lotion bars. The first batch was too soft, but now they are just perfect. Can't wait to cut them up, wrap them and put them in their new tins.

will bbl! huggerrrrssss!

At that time, lessons were free for members -- what a deal with 3 kids who needed to learn! It was the same for us. My kids all got swimming lessons when they turned 3- and then advanced each year. When they were a little older, we joined a swim club and they were on the swimming team- and two of them did swimming and diving team! Lots of fun back in the day!!! They still talk about the fun they used to have. They also used to craft at the swim club--- make jewelry, lanyard type things, friendship bracelets and some other things. People would ask them how much for something so they earned their "snack stand money" by selling some of their crafts.

Joanne, Thanks for the help with the colors. I have lots of Royal blue and red and white -- the local high school uses red and white for their colors. Thanks. My monitor doesn't show true colors, so it can be hard to judge what is what. Do I see a NY Giants stadium blanket being made?

LeeAnn- Yes, I was up bright and early with the birds as is the norm. Sat outside on the deck with my coffee and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

I made a few friendship squares and sent them on their way this morning! Love 24/7 self service at the PO.

Last night I worked some more on the Heart Strings Tote- about 3 more rows, and then I got tired of really having to pay attention to the counting- it's coming along nicely. I think I'm going to give it to my oldest DD for her Birthday in August- it's a nice red/burgandy color- Bernat Super Value called Redwood Heather. I have time to work a few rows at a time and have it done. I'm thinking of starting another SBT- just because it's so mindless!!!!

Have a wonderful day.

Hi Stacy and Marisa!!!

Hey ladies,

I'm back in philly now :whew I breezed through the posts. I'll be more and more sparse and impersonal in my posting as time goes on here, so I appologize upfront :blush I will be in here daily of course, but just need to trim down the amount of time I sit here :lol Too much to get done in so little time. Anyways, we went to staples today and picked up some office supplies at great deals. If you need anything, you should go too :yes They have reams of paper for 25 cents after the rebate :D Limit 2 reams per person and 2 rebates per household. My parents and I went to 2 different staples and got 2 reams each at both and have 3 houses to send the rebates for :think Then they had a pack of pens for a penny with any $5 purchase (limit 2) and sharpie markers for a dollar.....we made out with a bunch of stuff :yay

Beth - my mom just likes everyone to be together :lol But my bro and his family are coming home next weekend and we're having a family reunion the weekend after that. 160 people, many of whom need to fly in so I think we will be 12 staying at my parents :eek So everything is prepping for that. I brought home alot of stuff this weekend. Cleaned out my food cabinets since I'm moving anyway and not spending any time here to cook, so she can use it while my bro's fam is there (for 3 wks). And went through my clothes, so now that's scattered in my sis room for my sil to go through. She called and asked if I was getting rid of anything bc she didnt really have much. So she'll go through that and see if anything works (my mom and aunt as well and the rest will go to some kids that work with my mom) then my mom will take her to pick up some things as well. Honestly, I can't imagine she'll fit my clothes :think but we shall see. What else. No break until my vaca for the beach in aug. I'm off the fri before the reunion and the whole week after, but am not anticipating any break time :eek Today we did a whole pile of running around and I didn't leave there until 5 :eek Trying to help them out as much as I could before leaving so they wouldn't have as much to do by themselves. I have a list of things that I still need to take up to them which will be next weekend :whew Can I just say that if I get past this week, the rest won't be so bad :think:xfin Wow, sorry I went off on a rant there :blush:lol

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Marisa-you are sure busy! Oh my! Hoping that the week goes well for you as well as next weekend up until the move.:hug:hug

Joanne-your latest project sounds awesome! I was thinking of you while :hook today. The baby ghan that I am working on is working up rather fast, am hoping to finish sometime this week.

Beth-how was your Sunday? Did you get to relax?

I added a few goodies to my site, can I say that I am in love love love with the new soap, Ginger Fish with Aloe Vera as well as the new lotion bars with shimmer glitter...so cool! I am hoping that they sell sell sell. I am ready for sales. :lol

back to soap, I'm making dh a batch of Cedar & Saffron-a new scent that he picked up. Going to add those to my site as well.

hugs n squishes!

I type much better on the desktop than on the laptop, but here goes... let's see if I hit the wrong button again with my big fingers, and make it disappear again...

I had a great time at the restaurant. It's fun to go out with just adults.

Joanne, I will be making a Giant's blanket. And the black and gold are for the Steelers. Also, the local hockey team is black and gold, so it will have a good audience. (I hope.)

Marisa, big hugs to you. It sounds like you are super busy right now, helping out with family things when you have so much to do just for yourself. I know you'll get through it, but I also know it's very stressful. I hope your work week goes well.

LeeAnn, I do not know where you find time to do all you do. Congrats on the new lotion bars. What fun to make them!

Stacy, I hope your weekend was relaxing. Do you work much on weekends?

Mary, thinking of you, sweetie!

Hugs to you all.

I woke up at 3 with an upset stomach -- I ate very late last night, and it didn't agree with me too much. So I got some paperwork done that was weighing on my mind, Today I take my son to the auto insurance people, and he turns in the special new driver's program they have, and earns a discount!

I'm glad it's not Monday any more. Let's all have a great Tuesday!!!

Feel better Beth- and love the 'good driver' discount. In NJ if you take 'behind the wheel' lessons, you get a discount on the insurance (which by the way is one of the highest in the nation). Needless to say all three of my DD's took "behind the wheel" lessons to get the discount when they started driving.

I only worked on the baby bubbles ghan- mindless and easy---my go-to for a quick gift from now on I think! I have 3 to make for co-workers...well I don't have to make them---I want to make them!!!

Thinking of you all......and it's time to get ready for another day in Paradise.

As Beth said. LET'S MAKE IT A GREAT TUESDAY!!!

Good morning ladies :coffee

I was up before the alarm so came down a few minutes early. Last night after work I ran to party city to price pinatas and went into michael's, but left empty handed :eek Came home and washed the sheets and towels which are still in the dryer waiting to be folded. I did some computer stuff and research on software for electronic files. I'm waiting to hear back from my attorney about the sample lease I emailed him on friday for the place I like in Pitt. In the midst of everything else, I NEED to find time to finish up my business plan so that I can apply for a small business loan. I called the bank last week, so am waiting to hear back from a healthcare specialist banker from them :think But the guy I did speak with was really nice :yes OOoooo, also found out that I'm going to save a small fortune on my malpractice insurance :yay Philadelphia is apparently one of the highest counties in PA and Pitt is lower AND she told me that I can go on a part time status as long as my avg patient visits per stays below 69 :yay So that will be a little into opening my office before I have to kick it back up to a regular full time policy :clap:yay I didn't even know they offered that :bounce

Beth - We all took driving lessons too, PA offers a discount too...plus I got a discount for school so my dad always had to take my grade reports over to the agent when they came (I don't know if it was for the grades or for being a student though :think ) Glad you had fun at the restaurant :hug You're right, I am super busy and this too shall pass :yes I really didn't pick the BEST time to be moving and openning my practice, but it was time so it picked it's own time, I just went with it :rofl

LeeAnn - Hope you had a great day yesterday and another today :hug

Joanne - baby ghan? where's the sbt? :wink:devil Hey, do you know anything about the MacPractice software, since you're a mac fanatic :wink I came across it last night and looks pretty nice. I have to wait to hear back from them to get a demo though. The apple store in Pitt by my sister's is having a demo on it wed night, but alas, I can't be there :(

OK, have a couple more threads to go............

Beth-so hope you are feeling better. bummer! Did you get to go back to bed after taking your ds to the DMV? Crossing my fingers that you did.

Joanne-I saw your post regarding the package that you recvd for the swap, how awesome and fantastic! wait.....I should have said "Loot":lol Happy Happy for ya! I have only heard from my partner once and have not heard as to whether she sent one out to me....I was bummed, but am looking forward to hearing from her...sometime.

Marisa-how was your day? I hope it went well. Bet you are getting anxious for everything to come together.

Today was a super duper busy day, two of our teachers quit....last week and a a few weeks ago,..this makes finding coverage tricky. We also had the main tacos in today, they helped clear up questions and offered support.

Going to get at least an hour of hook time in if I can.

Hugs n extra squishes!

You should send a PM to the Swap Hostess and let her know that you haven't heard from her but one time and that you don't know if she has sent you a package!!!! There are angels that will step in:hug I may just send one on your behalf!!!

Glad that the main tacos offered support (love that you call them the main tacos:) and I'm sure with being down two teachers, things are tough!

Hang in there!!!

Marisa- WTG on getting stuff in order. I haven't heard about the Macpractice software, but when you mentioned it, I checked it out . Looks pretty cool- and too bad that the one in Pitt is on a Wed. There is a demo in NJ - way up north- Woodcliff Lake which is right near where I grew up- it's in Bergen County- on the 24th of July- a Sunday- but I think that's when your family is here.

All things will work out as they should!!!!

Oh, and yes, working on a baby blanket,,,but yarn keeps calling out to me to make a SBT!!! I started the Heart Strings tote, but it isn't as easy to me as the SBT- I have to pay attention and count!!! With the SBT, I just hook away!!!

Beth- Hope you are feeling better!!!

See you in the AM

Hey ladies!

Marisa, sending lots of :hug:hug:hug:hug:hug your way! You are a busy, busy woman, and sound so coordinated on getting your business together. You go girl! :yay

Joanne, the baby bubbles blanket is a good, easy one to make. :yes So sweet of you to make them for your co-workers. I haven't had a good cup of Joe's in a while, b/c Roomie took the bean grinder. Next time I go to TJ's, I'll have to grind them there. I miss my Joe's!

Beth, :hug:hug:hug to you. I hope you are feeling better by now. WTG to your son on getting the driving discount. In MI, we had discounts for good grades, so my dad always had to take my report cards in when they came through.

Leeann, I'm so sorry you had a bad experience with the swap. I agree with Joanne- you should contact the hostess and let her know. It is confidential, and there are angels waiting to send out rescue packages. :hug:hug:hug I need to scoot over to your shop and check it out- ginger fish sound interesting! I'm so happy to hear you like your new position, even though you miss the kiddos.

Today I took Mia to the doctor yet again- her eardrum ruptured this time. Poor girl. She is on antibiotics until her hearing test on the 28th- doesn't sound like a good idea to me, but the doctor doesn't want to take the chance of her getting another infection before the test (we would have to reschedule again.)

Olive, our Shepard, has started to act out, which is so surprising because she hasn't done it at all in the year that we have had her. But last night while Jorge and the girls were at the Y, she tore up the trash, and last night around midnight I heard paper shredding- she got into the bag I had on the sink with Subway wrappers and was tearing them. Then when I came home today, she had gone to the bathroom all over the living room. I thought of putting her on the balcony when we leave, but I don't know if she will try to jump down. :eek:think

Aside from that- I have been busy with work, the girls' Y classses, and cleaning/moving. We have one more room full of boxes to move, then we are having a "cleaning party" on Saturday. Two of dh's friends are helping us, because he helped them a few months ago. FIL will also be there, and MIL offered to watch the girls. By Saturday night, we should be 99% finished. :whew

Well, I'm going to scoot. My plans for tomorrow are to sit on my rear and :hook, but we'll see what really happens. :lol Good night, friends!

I am typing from my iPad so excuse any typos. Dh fell asleep on the couch downstairs where my laptop is and don't want to wake him.

Stacy. Hugs to Mia!!!ear infections are no fun!!! I meant to ask. Do you have a washer and dryer where u are now? It sounds like u are getting settled in and that is great. Oh,BTW,love the pics of ur cruise on FB.

Beth. Hope today finds u feeling better. Have you been working on "my" NY giants Ghan? :lol

Marisa. Two more days after today and the work week is over. Yippee. can't wait to see you saturday.

Leeann. I sent a pm to swap mama asking what you do when u haven,t heard from ur partner. I am so sorry that your experience did not turn out so well. I was partnered up with a great partner and feel so lucky in that respect. Hope today is a good one for you

Off to re fill the coffee. Have a good day everyone. Hugs

Good morning ladies :coffee

Still waking up here and am about to go jump in the shower :yes Folded my laundry last night and that's about the extent of what got done.

LeeAnn - main tacos!!!! :eek:rofl You crack me up :rofl Hopefully they find replacements for the 2 that quit :hug

Joanne - You're right, July 24 is the day after our reunion....mom's having a pig roast :yay I knew all the software out there ran on PC's and you know after my recent Apple experience with my mom's ipad got me to thinking, so I googled for the software for mac and that's what I got :yes I'm waiting to hear back from this rep again, but it sounds like we might be able to do a web demo :think:xfin

Stacy - Poor Mia :hug :hug :hug and Olive :eek Maybe she's stressed and confused with the move :think Was there a pet at your new apt with the previoius tenants? Maybe the scent is still lingering? Just some ideas :think

Howdy doody all!

Wanted to pop in before fixing din din. Am making homemade pizza....yummy!

Joanne-I took your advice and sent a pm to the hostess of the swap, she contacted my partner-she should be sending out my package. It's not that I was really concerned about the package, just wanted to make a new friend and perhaps build a relationship. But I am will continue to join swaps as I love them and enjoy making goodies for others. Thank you for offering to be an "Angel" that sure made my day. :hug:hug:hug

Stacy-you sure do sound busy as a bee...goodness! Hope Olive behaves better, perhaps she is adjusting to the change. The Ginger Fish soap is delicious! I know that I say that about all of my soaps, but this one is sooo refreshing! I love the lemon, lime, ginger scent, very appealing. Hope your dd's ear feels better soon, how painful.

Marisa-I hope and hope that you can see a demo online, that would make it so easy. How was work?

Beth-how ya feeling today?

Today was another busy day, I think I am finally getting the hang of it...catching up on paperwork and finally getting in the classrooms more to observe and offer support. I especially like that. Am almost finished with the baby ghan, on the last two rows and then the border...I think I can....I think I can!

best get a move and start dinner. BBL! Hugs n squishes!

So glad that the swap isn't ending in a total disaster, LeeAnn. I had a great experience and I'm glad that you are going to join more. I didn't do a stitch of hooking last night- hoping to remedy that tonight!!!

It was another long day in Paradise- and still didn't eat dinner- so off to do that and then relax for a while

Marisa- Hump Day over- 2 more to go!!

Hope Mia is feeling better Stacy and you too Beth!!
