North Jersey Spinner

Okay, My kids were oh so nice to me for Christmas and got me a spinning wheel. I have never used a spinning wheel, and after watching tons of youtube videos, and trying so many times.....I can't get it. It is just not something I can do, But I am not the type of person to just give up, at least not yet.

So I am looking for someone in the North Jersey area that would be willing to help teach an Old Gal a new trick... How to spin yarn.

If anyone is willing to try then please please contact me. I really want to learn this and I am sadden by the fact that I just can't master it.

So if anyone is interested please email me at Ladykats@gmail.com or PM me here...

Thank you so very much

Depending on what part of North Jersey you are from...you may be

close to this very popular and busy group:

http://www.northcountryspinners.org/index.htm

Besides their meetings, they also host a Fall Fibre Workshop.

Here's some pics from the 2008 retreat...and yes, that's Lily Chin in

one of the photos...she, among others, taught a class in 2008.

Unless the date is a mistake, it looks like the retreat skips 2009 to

the Fall of 2010:

They do have members that give private lessons. Perhaps there is someone close to you. Email from this page:

Hope this helps...

Yes I have been to that site, I am in northern NJ up by New York City. Because they only have this festival in even years is why I haven't gone through there. Was kindof hoping for someone possibly local who could teach me. I guess spinners are rare all the way up north and I work 6 days a week. There is a place down central Nj that teaches spinning, but I haven't contacted them as of yet. Was hoping for a place a bit closer. I will keep it in mind if I am unable to find anything closer. Thank you for replying though.
