Somebody stop her

Recommended Posts

Don't want to bring down the funniness of this thread but I want to give you guys an update on my mom. The massive amount of pain that she is in has caused her to be very despondent. She is even refusing to go back to the pain management specialist because she has decided she doesn't like his attitude. I don't know what to do. The only time I see a smile on her face these days is when I read to her what you guys say. There is a comfortghan being made for her here If you would like to add a square, they are 8" squares being made in shades of blue and mauve or rose colors. She loves the Caron simply soft country blues but any shade of blue is fine. PM me for my address if you would like to make one but please keep the conversation about the ghan over on that thread since I read to her from this one and she frequently reads over my shoulder and the ghan is a surprise. Also if any of you would like to send her letters, or postcards or notes, or something special from where you live, just pm for that address also. I really could use the help in pulling her out of this mood she has gotten into. Thank you for listening.

I know how she feels, I've had a few bad doctors. The worst was when I was pregnant, and I was in labor for almost 24 hours already. The OB from where I went for checkups was a real b***h and after checking on me once, she left me alone for over an hour, then sent a nurse to send me home without checking me again. She was also extremely rude and really ****** me off. Needless to say I stayed away until her shift was just about over and my son was born later that day. If I have a choice in the matter, I will NEVER see her.

Well she has graduated and moved down the line. She has turned her shopping gene on my son. He is going to prom next weekend with this lovely young lady friend of his and so my mom decided to take him shopping to get a tux. So not only is she now moved from shopping for me to her grandson but she has gone from fiber to the finished product. :lol She made him try on over 30 tuxes until both her and the young girl friend squealed in delight at the 1920 retro fashion gangster style tux then she insisted that he get a 1920's style hat to set it off. It ended up being the most expensive tux they carry:eek Not sure why an almost 18 year old needs a tux but at least he looks good in it. :P I told her that I think she just needs to go back to buying yarn because it seems to be cheaper. She told me to mind my own business :eek:eek Got to love her though, and my son does a lot of things for her so I know he deserves it, but if she starts bringing in all sorts of other clothes and suits and tuxes for him the way she does yarn for me, I may have to start sending out clothes and tuxedos as RAOKs. :rofl Wonder what a man would think about a prayer tux???:hook

PS For those of you that would like to help we have a comfortghan that we are trying to make for my mom for mothers day to help her get through all the pain she has been in. But we are still short a few squares. If you would like to help the link is in my siggie. Thanks everybody for reading this. Hope it made you smile today.

I LOVE reading these posts about your wonderful SHOL! :hug to you and your mom for what she's going through. As far as your yarn stash goes, I have two words for you: SPACE BAGS. :yay They are AWESOME for shrinking your stash, although the filled bags weigh about three times more than you'd expect :eek. I used the "cube-style" to put in my totes, and they work great!

Just thought a little humor would lighten the day. :badidea I am very appreciative of her enabling (except when I am trying to find places to put the yarn or having to listen to DH complain about my yarn overtaking the house) and most of the time she never asks for anything in return. Most people talk in here with humor about how they are constantly buying yarn for themselves and I just thought a little humor about my most precious mom would make a few people laugh. I apologise if anyone was offended by this post. :ohdear Besides her enabling allows me to make stuff for other people and give away whatever yarn that I won't use. Trust me I truly love my mom and appreciates all that she does:manyheart

I think your mom is great!!! :hook
