afghan for my son

My son would like to have me made him a afghan out of soft yarn. he likes soft things LOl. So can you tell me of a good soft yarn and the pattern to go with it. Thanks

I know alot of people do not care for the Eco Soft, but I did a Granny square with it and wow it washes up nice and gets softer every time! But there are tons of beautiful fibers out there, that would just be one easy to get and inexpensive option. I am certain you have asked the right people!!!

simply soft is a nice yarn red heart soft is good even vannas choice yarn is soft i think any pattern can be made

I think Bernat Super Value is especially soft. Their Worsted Big Ball and Berella 4 Ply are also soft and easy to work with.

The next yarn I think I will try for an afghan is Bernat Berella 4. It's soft yet it seems sturdy enough to hold up. A little pricey as far as some acrylics go but I'd still like to try it.
