I happened to see a little bit of the newer Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday. I didn't notice before how much crochet is in Charlie's home! The old ladies are wrapped in afghans and there are a couple of hats too.

Later on in the movie one of the grandmas is actually crocheting!

I've noticed that too. I love that in the movie. Grandma crocheting in bed.

In the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, both the old grandmas and the mom were knitting (not crochet but still) Charlie's huge scarf for his birthday. They showed them working on it then mentioned it later when they gave it to him.
