Great Grandma's show and tell

I'm one lucky gal. My mother gave me an old steamer trunk Chalk FULL of goodies that belonged to my Great Grandmother-- Her name was Viola Bjorkman, she immigrated to the United states in 1884 and this trunk was full of her millinery and crochet supplies. Here are a couple of her hand made treasures that she had left in the trunk. The petticoats are very large (when great grandma died, it is legened she was so big she had to be buried in a furniture crate) I think she died about 1920 The petticoats are hand sewn too. I'm very excited.

The thread looks like string (30 possibly?), the stitches intricate.

It's so wonderful to recieve a treasure like that. It is very special when you find something hand made from so long ago. It connects you to your relatives in a new way.
