Cape for Florida

I just made the town and country cape on the Lion Brand site. I love it. I would like to make one for my sister in Florida. She said the nights get cool now. I don't want to use the Homespun as that would be too heavy. I think Red Heart makes something sort of similar in cotton. Do you think this would work with the pattern? Should I change hook size? Is there a better yarn to try?

Wow, I just made one for my Mom who lives in Florida and used the Homespun, she loves it. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/scratchchin.gif" /> Maybe two strands of the Caron Simply Soft? And a smaller hook?

I made one for the warmer So. California weather of Palm Springs area and its perfect for the evenings! I love it! I used the Super Soft yarn.

i think the red heart casual cot'n (if that's what you were talking about) is a bit thinner than homespun... so if you used it and the same size hook, you'd end up with a more 'open' stitching, right?
