Emma's Penguin Pal Scarf

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My great-niece Emma is facinated with penguins these days.

So I made her a new scarf. I have a pair of glass eyes ordered but till they arrive I used some buttons.

I found the pattern in book called "Vogue Knitting, Crocheted Scarves Two". Found it on ebay.

That is adorable. My kids were facinated with penguins too, they even hatched a plot to snatch one from the Coney Island Aquarium and stash it in my son's backpack to bring home as a pet. Luckily I was able to convince them that a pet with fishbreath wasn't quite what we wanted.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Great penguin story too!

Emma asked Santa to bring her a live baby penguin for Christmas. We tried to convince her that it would be too warm here in PA for a penguin in the summer. She had an answer for that. She said, "He can live in our freezer in the summer." When we told her he'd eat all the food in there her reply was, "Daddy will buy more food." Finally about two days before Christmas I convinced her that the baby penguin would miss his family too much to move in with her.

Santa did help by leaving a little something for her.

When she woke up on Christmas morning there was a line of 12 penguins from her bed to the tree!

Thank goodness the fabric store had a pattern! :lol
