Scarves for Valentines Day

I decided to make scarves for my grand daughters for Valentine day. I am going to knit them (sorry ladies) and try to use some of that FUN eyelash yarn in my stash. Can anyone give me an idea of length? I looked last night at patterns and it seems that most kids/childrens were 34-36" long and adults 45". Is that about right? My 'babies' range from 12 - 4. Then the two boys? not sure what to do for them I think hats and the baby 1 y/o going to do the SUPER cute hat in Crochet World this month.
