Fibonacci Scarf

This is the first pattern I have made from my 2008 Crochet A Day calendar. I have two math teacher friends who are going to get this neat scarf for Christmas this year.

I got the first one done last night.

I used I Love This Yarn! for the first time and it was wonderful to work with. So soft and pretty.

Oh man that is so cool. At first I was wondering how someone would make a Fibonacci scarf, but seeing that made me laugh. The color changing makes perfect sense. I think I need to make one of these, just because I'm a math dork too.

I have no idea what that maths term is, but the scarf is very pretty. I'll have to go google the maths thing now, aaargh, feel like I'm back in school :lol

The simple answer is that the Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where the last two numbers are added together to get the next number in the series (1+1=2, 1+2=3, 2+3=5 . . .). It starts with two ones:

1 1 2 3 5 8 13 21 . . .

So for the scarf pattern, there's 1 row of green, 1 of white, 2 of green, 3 of white, 5 of green, and so on.
