First attempt at spinning

I thought I'd show off the granny square I made from my first attempt at spinning...

 

 

The yarn's horribly uneven, but I pretty much expected that since I've never tried it before.

 

(In case you were were wondering, the yarn's made of fiber fill. There isn't anywhere around here that sells fiber for spinning and online shopping's out right now. Besides, it's got fiber in the name )

Hehe, thanks! I've been looking for some other sorts of non-traditional things to try to spin with. Just for the fun of it.

lol. I've gotten used to improvising with what's available because the stores around here don't sell much beyond basic hooks, needles, and ww yarns.

I haven't gotten around to spinning fiber fill, but have thought of it.

 

Other 'odd' things to spin (or combine with your fiber fill) ... newspaper, ribbons, dryer lint, strips of cloth.

 

Real 'artsy' yarn you'd have!!!
