Silly question, but I need the help!!

I just finished a poncho with a more open weave and want to make a woven tie with small tassels or poms pons at the ends. I want the tie or drawstring around the neckline, about three rows in. If you understand this part (:fc then I need a simple type of pattern to make the actual tie with poms poms or tassels attached. I've never made one like this before and wanted to try something different, but can't get my brain to work tonight.

you oculd use ribbon for a nice look or you could just m ake a really l ong chian or double base chain..

Or even make a long chain and then slip stitch back up to the start of it.

I think I have it resolved. I made a chain of about 150 and slip stitched another row. I wove it through the poncho and then made five petal flowers (smaller ones) with a center hole and strung the tie through the flower and knotted it. Worked up in about 20 minutes and looks pretty. I'll try to post pix tonight.
