baby hat

teapot

Recommended Posts

I have been knitting this baby hat that I found on the site www.roxycraft.com

I have just finished the last row which seemed to be repeated where you K1, K2tog across.

There was a row of purling before the second last row.

So at the end it says to finish off.

Now does this mean to bind off while purling in between, or do I just bind off?

Teapot:think

What i meant was should I purl before I do the bind off stitches? Or just do the bind off in purl stitches? Teapot

Since you're at the top of the hat, at the end of the pattern, and it has been sufficiently tapered down to a "point" so to speak, I don't think it will make a difference if you bind it off in knit stitch or in purl stitch...but I don't understand your statement "bind off while purling in between". From the website, it looks like she simply forgot to write what stitch to bind off in before writing "Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing up seam." So basically, you need to bind off the stitches, then use the remaining tail to seam up the back of the hat and you should be fine.
