Here are some slippers I made for my MIL for Christmas:

I used a pattern from Ravelry: Crocheted Moccasins by Umme Yussuf http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crocheted-moccasin (for you Ravelry-users) with minimal modifications. I used Caron Simply Soft Ombres (thanks, Dorothy :hug) and an 8ply acrylic (Carnival 8-ply for you Aussies :)) in 2 strands with a J hook (I think).

Cheers,

Those do look comfy, I like the varigated you chose.

Thanks to all :)

Barbara, that is Caron Simply Soft Ombre in Country Blues - I have mixed it with a solid navy acrylic that is about the same colour as the darkest blue in the variegated.

Very nice. I have never made that style, do they stay on your feet well?

I am not sure - regular shoes/slippers in this style do, this was my first pair of crocheted ones. They were chosen to be as similar as possible to the ones her mother-in-law used to make her, which she and her late husband swore by. Her last pair was wearing out, so I made these for Christmas... it is summer here, though, so the actual wearing of them will probably not be fully tested until June/July.

Hope that helps some...
