walker...you have to go to your layout portion in the edit mode...then "add gadget" Choose the html/javascript, and then, like for the crochetville buttons, paste the link in the box. I think the crochetville buttons are all set with the link info and everything...they're in this thread, i think, posted by AmyS.

Here's the link for adding a crochetville button (or any button)

copy the information for the button (the <ahref....> link)

Then go to your blogger account.

In blogger, you have to go to layout, then select new gadget, then under the gadget list, select html/javascript

once that window pops up, then paste the button information, which is the html coding to get that button and link to work.

Once you've done that, click save, and it should be there.

If you don't want to use the crochetville button or link, then I would make sure the button you want to use is already on the internet...if not, upload it into photobucket. It will need to have a web address in order to work. Photobucket will do that.

Then you can use that same coding Donna gives, except as follows:

<a href="insert the web address you want your button to go to when its clicked"><img src="insert the web address to the button you want to display"></a>

See if that works....post back here once you've done it so i'll know to check it out.

On my blog on Sunday, I spent almost all day re-vamping it. I made the header in word, but had to paste it into paint to save it as a jpeg file, then uploaded it into photobucket to get the web address for it. Then, my daughter went into the html coding part of blogger and pasted the html coding to get the header onto the page. That part I'm dumb about. The other stuff I can do!! I'd like to take an html coding class.....if i understood what it all meant, i might be able to figure stuff out!!!

Thanks for the info! It was reallly helpful. It should be the Crochetville button where the little red X box is. Maybe the space is not big enough to show the full button? I am not sure. Will keep trying to figure this out. Until then...happy crocheting!

something wasn't right...b/c if you hold the curser over the red x, down in the bottom left corner of the window it will show the address that button is linked to...you had it linked to your site.

if you go to "edit" for that gadget you already set up, delete the stuff you have in there, then copy & paste Donna's information, then it should work...
